About the Project

As second year Business Students who are currently taking a module in Niche Marketing, we have been asked to develop an online collateral in assisting to create a new innovative and cutting-edge product for luxury brand Chanel.

Why Chanel?

Coco Chanel : “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance”

They’re not just buying the male grooming kit…. They’re buying Chanel home. To every Chanel buyer, Chanel has a meaning. It is a Top-Of- Mind brand. With Chanel, people know what to expect. And they keep coming back to us, at all ages, as they enter and leave the market’”.

Purpose

The purpose of this site is to allow us to explore a range of marketing activities and is purely theory based and a concept thought of by ourselves. Therefore, it is vital to emphasise this is an academic piece of work and ultimately we are not working for, or representing Chanel in anyway.

We were asked to produce a brand new product for the brand. we Started with an idea of what we wanted to do, however searched for a gap in a luxury market, after understanding who the target market were, a product was developed and promotion strategy was build to appeal to this target market. The image below of Brad Pitt who is currently the face of Chanel provided us with the inspiration to create a male grooming kit for the brand.

 Why “Chanel Homme”

The word, “Homme” is French for Man, this is something that keep in with the tradition and heritage of the French brand. The Word in French is much more effective to the target market, rather than just calling it Chanel man, this is also used across Chanel’s other products and provides consistency.

Why “Redefining the Modern Gentleman”

 According to Country Life, The modern Gentleman is someone who is at ease in all life situations, and makes everyone around them also at ease.This is something that using Chanel Homme grooming products will aid in. They will feel at ease and feel good about the feel after using it.
